This February 10 Aalto ARTS Students with lecturer Minna Suoniemi were working on “Accidental Tourist Guide”, an intercultural artistic project of students from Zurich University of the Arts (ZHdK), Aalto University Helsinki (Aalto ARTS) and Academy of Visual Arts, Hong Kong Baptist University(HKBU). Helena Sederholm Kun tieteentekijät ottavat käsittelyyn taiteen, jotkut ovat innoissaan, mutta moni on myös varuillaan. Neurotieteilijät ovat pyrkineet aivojen kuvantamisen avulla mittaamaan taidekuvien synnyttämiä impulsseja ja osoittamaan missä kohdin esteettinen kokemus ja luovuus aivoissa sijaitsevat. Tätä tutkimussuuntausta kutsutaan neuroestetiikaksi. Moni taiteentutkija suhtautuu neuroesteetikkojen tutkimustuloksiin kriittisesti. Neuroesteetikkojen mukaan ihmisillä on kyky nähdä kauneutta tietyissä muodoissa, väreissä ja liikkeissä sekä niiden liioitelmissa ja yhdistelmissä.
